Microsoft has officially released Windows 10 May Update for the public. The Windows maker had said in April that the May Update will remain in the Release Preview ring for an increased amount of time to detect any issues before broader deployment. The company has been trying to make up for the disaster that was the last Windows 10 October Update.

However, with Windows 10 May Update, Microsoft didn’t only delay the public release but is also introducing controls to help users avoid surprise upgrades to the latest version. All users will now have the ability to explicitly choose if they want to update their device and can also pause updates for up to 35 days. More on that in this post.
